This course is an introduction to Physical Geology. You will be studying various earth processes and earth materials. Earth processes include earthquakes, volcanic activity, weathering, mass wasting, floods, glaciation, and more. Earth materials include minerals, rocks, soil, water and other fluids. Classes will consist of lectures, movies, and lab exercises relative to the topics. |

Course description:This course traces the history of the earth and life on earth as indicated by the sequences of rock layers, the distribution of surface sediments, former geographic relationships, the fossil record, and the nature of ancient environments.
