Abigail Adams house
This webpage is a work in progress, documenting the various stages of constructing dollhouses representing the homes and lifestyles in different time periods throughout American history. Eventually, they will be for sale.
I've always been impressed by Abigail Adams and saw a photograph of her house in a book on historic homes. These 2 halves of a house are not an exact copy, but are representative of that time period. I have not seen the inside or a book documenting the contents, so I've just included furniture and furnishings of the time period right after the Revolutionary War.
Art in Progress
I got as far as some of the shingles, and, as usual am missing the staircases and the baseboard and window trim, although they are painted and ready to install. However, I had a dinner party scheduled, and had to get the houses off of the dining room table and into a spare bedroom, where there wasn't room to get at the roof.
